Just set up a new PC with windows 10 home.

Was logged in with a microsoft account, and was able to share folders with other computers in the household with no issue, couldn't connect remotely through.

Logged out of the microsoft account and tried a local one instead, nope. Can't even see the shared folders now. Logged back into the microsoft account and now nothing works.

I need to send about 1TB worth of files over to this new computer, so I NEED file sharing working. The computer "Dani" shows up under Network > Dani but. When I double click, or right click>connect with remote desktop connection; I get an error.

1) remote access is not enabled (FALSE yes it is)
2) remote computer is turned off (FALSE)
3) remote computer is not available on the network. What?? If this is true, why can I see it listed un "Network" in file explorer?

When I fist did this (when it worked) I had to enter credentials, and it connected successfully. Now it doesn't ask for any credentials and just tries to connect, of course it doesn't work. Could this be the issue? How do I enable it asking for credentials?

I tried disabling IPV4, no luck. Everything is connected with an ethernet cable so I honestly don't understand why it can't join homegroup at the very least.

I disabled and re-enabled ipv4 because that's what google told me to do. It was enabled by default, so I assume I should leave it that way.

Tried everything in your link. The drive is successfully showing as being "shared" even though no one else can access it. I gave full permissions to "everyone" read/write etc. and it doesn't show. I don't know what else to try.
