New router or Ethernet

Hello,
I'm having a problem using the Wi-Fi when playing games on the PC. My family also uses the internet wirelessly and when any of them is downloading stuff or watching netflix the internet just slows down, so i can't play real time games.
To contextualize, my house has two floors and the router and my parent's room are in the first floor, though the router is not in their room. Me and my brother are in the second floor, and the router is somehow in the center of the first floor while we are in the corners.
My ISP provides me with 100Mb download speed and 30 or so upload speed, but in my room I can barely reach 50Mb.

The thing here is that in the last month I have seen my brother constanly download stuff and using netflix at the same time as my parents and it seems that my connection just slows down.
I tried to check the "QoS" from my Linksys EA4500 and I put priority in my computer and games while also limiting the max download/upload speed, at the beginning it was working for me and tried to download some things while I was playing and roughtly got 20-30 ping, but one day I was playing while someone was downloading stuff and my ping was 200-250.

So now I'm checking some routers that are compatible with tomato,openwrt,dd-wrt firmwares so I can have more control of the connections, but I don't know if can be the best solution or maybe we could move the router and optical fiber to my room and connect my computer by ethernet cable so I have a more stable connection and I wanted to ask what do you think about this and how can I solve this.

The two solutions cost about the same, because we are checking the TP-Link Archer C7 and it cost around the same here as moving everything to the second floor.

Everything is welcome and if you have any question to get more information I can answer them.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

Instead changing wifi routers (which may or may not provide a good signal to your room), you may want to take a look at ethernet powerline adapters. Something like this: http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/powerline/PL1200.aspx. Depending on the age and wiring in your home, it should provide a more stable and consistent connection.
