So I'm not that good with computers but I think I know the problem but I'm not sure if this is actually it. So I never really played a lot of games on my pc since I'm a console player, but I decided to play a bit of fortnite on my well-outdated pc and I was averaging anywhere around 20-29 fps (no there was no fps limiter). One day I was on youtube and I saw a video where the person in the video said if you have a bad pc with an old CPU just throw a budget GPU in there and it should give you higher frames. So went online and looked at some cards that were in the low-end budget section and came across the RX 560 4gb card from sapphire. It was fairly cheap (£125.00) so I picked it up. when it came I put it in my pc and I connected my display to the GPU and I still was getting quite a low amount of frames. So then I was like what a waste of money, I then looked at task manager > Performance and saw that my CPU was at 100% utilization while my GPU was only at 37%. like I don't know much about computers but this seems weird. If you're wondering what my
PC specs are it's:
AMD APU A6-6400K Black Edition Dual Core 3.90GHz
Gigabyte F2A68HM-HD2 Motherboard
Corsair CP-9020097 550 W PSU
RX 560 4GB Sapphire Pulse
If there is anything I'm doing wrong please tell me, because right now the only thing I can think of doing is buying a quad-core CPU. The only thing that made me stop is when I looked at the fortnite min specs. on that spec sheet, they also suggested a dual-core CPU.
