Has anyone been able to install Windows 7 on a Ryzen 2700x build? I've currently tried these examples for my 2700x but no luck: https://pastebin.com/TUZvnmy1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9ImB56BkY8

Neither of these had any success. I've tried disabling xHCI in my BIOS, using a Windows 7 disc/usb, USB2/USB3 keyboard/mouse injecting USB3 drivers into an ISO, etc. Is there anything I can do? I really love Windows 7, and would like to use it on my new computer, however, I'm having no luck installing it on a Ryzen 2700x and Crosshair VII.

You need to put the USB 3.1 drivers from Asmedia into your Windows7 iso before you boot from it, so the drivers are there from beginning. From my Asus rog Strix x470-f gaming there is a Utility on their site. Look there it takes automatically the Asmedia USB 3.1 and AMD Chipset drivers into your bootable Win7 Stick. Btw. Ryzen Works a lot greater with Windows7. I want to be the Admin of my Operating System and dont want to send all my doings to Microsoft/google/apple...

Don't bother. I'd ask you to go with Windows 8.1 or 10. Using the Windows Media Creation Tool to create your bootable installer. Out of curiosity, where did you source the ISO for Windows 7?

Moving this thread to systems section.

I bought Windows 7 years ago and still have my product key for it. Apparently if your code still works you can get the ISO here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7

I don't really want to install 8 or 10 unless I have to. I still have one more attempt I can try, a ps2 keyboard/mouse since my motherboard has that outlet.

yes. i have. and it works. but this will test your prowess as a poweruser to the max. as Ztdutxjgxgtu said, you will need a ps2 mouse and keyboard. but the chances are good that you will have only one ps2 port. so you'll have to use ps2 mouse, and display keyboard, because your usb keyboard mouse will not work. nothing usb will work untill you install drivers, and the copy you download, if microsoft allows you to download will not have usb support. you can get that from amd. all the windows 7 drivers are there, except for if you have m.2, then you will have to get that from samsung. so if you have m.2, and after you must install to hdd, you will have to clone to ssd. Lutfij was spot on when he said "don't bother" because it isn't going to be easy. even getting a copy of win 7 wasn't easy. microsoft isn't going to give you one, and neither will any manufacturer.
the bottom line is that it is entirely doable. just follow my outline. the first problem you'll encounter is not having the drivers. thank you amd for making that possible, but you'll neither have network drivers to download them from amd. i used a program called "drivers talent" to get my network drivers. Godspeed bro, win 7 rocks. and so does linux.
