Thought about buying my first gaming pc for a while now and I don't have the biggest budget so I thought I might aswell build it to reduce price, i found these parts and was wondering if they all work together or if i needed anything else.
Cooler Master MasterBox Lite 5 Computer Case
i5-8400 Processor
ASUS PRIME H310M-A mATX
Corsair Vengeance LPX 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4
Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1050
Seagate 1TB Barracuda Hard Drive
Corsair 550W Power Supply
120gb Kingston SSD

Any help on benchmarks of this system or general advice would be appreciated :)

SSD prices are on the decline now. The same can not be told about GPUs. There are several upgrade pathes OP may take. If you do not plan to spend more on the rig in the upcoming 9-18 months, a 1050ti would be a reasonable trade off.
It is also probable that you will be able to upgrade your gpu in 2019 with a way better price/performance ratio.

With a gtx1050 you can squeeze out 50 frames per second (or rather 40 with max setting) from your PC at 1920x1080 resolution according to userbenchmarks.com

and 70ish in Overwatch

That translates to a fluid gaming experience.
All around the build you described is well upgradable and is a solid foundation. Have fun gaming!

Card prices are dropping also and a SSD does 0 for gaming when their all on a regular drive.
Get the best performance you can when building.
On a low budget it doesn't matter if it takes 15 seconds or 45 seconds for the PC to boot.
