So I'll be getting a new pc soon, and i plan to install windows using a flash drive then activate by troubleshooting since I've already linked my microsoft account to my digital license. It will be installed on my m.2 ssd along with games, and i'll have another 1tb hdd for mass storage. I'm currently using a 1tb hdd with everything from os to games on it, so im wondering what happens if i straight up move the hdd to my future pc and plug it in to a sata port. Like I said, im starting fresh with nothing but the os on it, but im wondering if i could just plug in the old hdd so i can access my old files whenever i want. Will it be incompatible or anything? cause i just wanna have the convenience of accessing old files whenever i feel like it. :)

If you install on the ssd and then activate using the link account, all you need to do is attached the HDD, it should beseen without any issues.

ONy issue with accessing existing files, would perhaps be user permissions, but I use the takeown registry hack to add this capablility to right-click command of explorer, looks complicated, but they offer a download to merge it directly into to windows.
