Will a hdd 2.5 cable work for a 3.5 drive
Yes, there is no difference between the cables used for a 2.5 inch drive and a 3.5 inch drive, just make sure they are both Sata and you aren't trying to plug a sata cable into a IDE port.
If the connectors look the same on both drives they will both work.
