Hello all,

So doing a build for my gaming grandma, here are the specs:

Ryzen 3 2200g with wraith stealth cooler
Gigabyte AB350N Wifi Mobo
2x4 hyperx ram
Cooler master 650 watt bronze psu

I built the computer at home, got it up, installed windows. Checked every port for functionality, installed updated drivers and did configurations. Installed some games for her and then took it to her house to set it up.

She had a monitor already so I said sure lets use that. Its some older HP monitor and she mentioned the picture had been going in and out on it but we used it anyway. Worked for about 20 minutes and then no more picture. After trying several monitors and display adapters for older monitors I decided to take it back home and see what was wrong.

After the picture went out none of the ports on the motherboard were working (rgb mouse and keyboard weren't lighting up) and I couldn't get a picture at home. Computer appears to start up fine (but I can't get a picture to be sure), case fan and cpu fan run fine, but the LED lights on the motherboard are off as well.

My initial thoughts are that somehow the monitor shorted out the ports on my board. I'm desperate for ideas here as its looking like I'm going to have to RMA the board. Any help is greatly appreciated!

TL;DR - I think an old monitor with a "short" in it fried the ports on my motherboard. I don't know how to be sure or what to do next :(
