I own an ASUS with an i5 4460 processor./ 12GB DDR memory with an Invidia Geforce GT 740 with 4 GB ram.

I am running into graphics issues - I would like to upgrade the video card, on a budget- to some thing that will run For Honor online and other games.

What would be a good card to get ... with an eye toward the future and upgrading the rest of my machine.

I really appreciate your time and offer 332,472 thanks in advance

That would depend on your budget. With your current CPU, you could run a GTX 1060 6GB or and RX 580 8GB. Anything more than these would be wasted on your current build, and I know you said with an eye on a future upgrade, but unless you are going for a monitor that's over 1080p or 60Hz, then you really...

Thanks for your timely answer - those are a little pricey for me right now - but I'll hunt for a sales- If you Have any other cheaper options I would appreciate any ideas you might have

Used would be your best bet at getting performance at a price you can afford. While looking at used, the GTX 970 would also be a good option.

New, there isn't much I'd recommend as price to performance is best in the middle with the GTX 1060 and RX 570/580. I guess you could look at the GTX 1050Ti, but I don't believe it's good value for the money. Or the GTX 1060 3GB version, this isn't anywhere as future proof as the 6GB card and is a cut down version in performance.
