Hello Community!

So I'm having trouble finding a power supply within my budget for a safe overclocking for my Ryzen 3 1200. My budget for a PSU is about $40-$50.

Question is, any efficient PSU's out there for atleast 3.9 Ghz stable + my whole build + without blowing up my system?

Specs-

CPU - Ryzen 3 1200
GPU - GTX 950
RAM - 8gb DDR4 2400 Mhz
Storage - Blue WD 1 TB
MOBO - ASRock AB350M PRO4 mATX

Thank you for your time!

Solution
Look for Corsair CXM, Seasonic S12II, FSP HYDRO, Superflower Leadex Silver, etc
Wattage depends on your current/future-upgrades GPU, but for the sake of no or less limitation in upgrading, aim for 500-650W.

mister, this is not the website to troll.
you are giving an efficiency label the approval of beeing a reliable unit. so as long as your car is energy efficient it means its safe?

I’ve read from other threads that the CXM 550 shouldn’t be used for overclocking CPU’s because it’s not efficient. Is this true?

Uh... what? Efficiency of a PSU has nothing to do with its ability to maintain solid quality power to your components.

It's just that generally speaking, higher tier/quality PSU tend to also include higher efficiency as one of their pros.

The Corsair CXM is totally fine for your use case.

the cx550m is a good unit the cx 400/500/600 are not. but that has ntohign to do with efficiency.

Cheap, safe and best at this price.
And yes go and check their efficiency and safety from their websites. I am building pc for many years and these are cheap and best.

And if you really go more cheap so go with zebronics zeb-450w dsata.

tell me what makes those 3 powersupplies safe?

So what i do. He want to spend 80-90 bucks on smps. Why.
Even 40$-180$ smps are made by same company corsair.

And corsair guareenteed that corsair vs550 is also safe. At only 40$

And he want to spent 80$ on corsair cxm 550. Which is only moduler. Why.

Two things. First Efficiency rating has precisely 0 to do with quality. Secondly 2 of the 3 PSUs you suggested are ultra low end (one, the Circle, being hot garbage). The third, Corsair VS is just above low end but still pretty poor, but has been discontinued for the new Corsair CXM line which has been suggested here.

Now let me put my moderator hat on and add a third thing. If you want to debate someone on the merits of your suggestions here fine, be our guest. But be prepared to back that up with hard data, AND on top of that, don't resort to trolling the thread like your last 2 posts. This is your first and last warning.

Mr. Suggest 3 power supplies at 40$ ok. Which are more efficient, reliable and safe.

Do it now

Its your time. Suggest 3 supplies great than my ones. They must more efficient, reliable and safe.

And did you even try very poor supplies like. Intex, zebronics, techno, even thungston. (you never hered about them these are most poor and cheap . No safety. No 60+ efficiency, no guarenty that when they fail or not.

Many peoples ask me that which is safe supply at 15$ really only 15$

Because they dont have much money to throw in only smps.

Many of them didnt even see any GPU and they think that they can build a desktop at 200$. And you only spend 200$ only on supplies like corsair rm1000x.

Multiple suggestions have been given in this thread. The OP's question

My budget for a PSU is about $40-$50.

You've now continued to troll this thread off topic. This is your opportunity to gracefully leave. Or not, and you will be removed, your choice.

I am just going to ignore most of this and answer the OP directly. Overclocking, under $50, with headroom for some upgrades

An Evga G2/G3, or Seasonic Focus gold go further beyond that budget, so I will stop with the Evo.
