Want to get the most out of recent build

Hey all at Tom's,

This is probably my 3rd thread but I am still learning my way around the Forum. So forgive me lads if I am spamming or something.

So previously I have asked Tom's about overclocking and getting the most out of my PC and I've done a bit of work and I have reached stable overclocks for both my CPU & GPU! (Thank you guys).

However, I just had one more thing...I feel like the games feel a bit off, if that makes sense. It feels like my PC is bottlenecking. I'm not sure if it is due to the recent tweaks or if my build compatibility might be an issue.

It is my first build, so it might not be perfect but I'd love some help with this. I've written details below.

Thank you all,

J

Details:

Most games recommend the ultra setting (im sure the 6gb on the graphics card enables that) but the games feel like theyre playing at 30fps.

I visually see the fps counter at around 60-180 (depending on the game) and my monitor's max refresh rate is 180hz with 1ms response but the games don't feel smooth or 'buttery' as I see sometimes with other builds.

For example, my friend with a 970 graphics card plays World of Warcraft at 90fps whereas I play usually around 180fps and his character models seem to slide over while mine look jagged and aren't really moving fluidly at all.

Overall, I just want the performance my build offers. It seems like something is holding it back though.

My build is in my signature, if not I can repost it in the comments.

Thank you all again

Well I will tell you this, when I use my 27" monitor & play at 1080p, everything both looks/feels nice and smooth. Whereas if I hook up to my 43" 4k display, even if I keep it at 1080p(basically all settings the same, fps still the same, etc..), it doesn't look/feel as smooth even though the only difference is the display.
