So this is my first PC build and I was looking into overclocking for gaming and the following is my build:

Ryzen 7 1700
16 GB (2x8GB) 3200 RAM, 2133 default
EVGA 1060 6 GB SSC
ASRock ab350m pro 4 motherboard.

I haven't really messed with overclocking in general and wanted to see if there was any general guidelines or advice from the community. Any help is appreciated.

What did you want to overclock? the CPU,Ram or the GPU? What power supply do you have?
A few things to keep in mind when overclocking is proper cooling, when you start pushing the speeds heat will be your enemy so i would recommend for the CPU you have something other than the stock cooler and making sure you have good airflow. Voltages are also going to be something that may need to be tweaked.
With the GPU After Burner or EVGA Precision XOC are some programs to start with.

All of them I believe. I know CPU first as that should give me the most change, then GPU, and lastly RAM.
The PSU is an EVGA SuperNOVA G3 80+ Gold 750W (Fully Modular). I do have the stock cooler for Ryzen 7 which is the Wraith Spire so that's kind of unfortunate. I do have good airflow though.
