What type and size of RAM do you have? Is your motherboard drivers up to date? What version is your Operating System? Have you updated that as well?

There is a couple of ways to check if it is your memory or your operating system is having an issue. With a desktop you can check to make sure that the RAM sticks are in the slots correctly or in the right order (refer to the motherboard manual about the RAM slots) if everything is fine with the hardware and you're still able to boot into the operating system there is a few tricks you can try to see if you can find what the issue is.

2) Update your BIOS and drivers. You can find those on your motherboard's website under drivers in the support section usually.
3)Check for Viruses with your preferred antivirus software, CCleaner and Malwarebytes are a usual goto for my preferences.
4) Check and Repair Windows System Files. Search run > type cmd.exe > type sfc /scannow
5) If this problem occurs shortly after installing a new program, remove that program immediately
