So I want to upgrade my storage from an old HDD to Samsung EVO 960. I noticed that getting 1 tb (1×1tb) is cheaper than 2×500gb. If i get the 1x1tb I will have to use that drive for all workload including System OS. So will it affects my performance? But what if I partition it, will it be better than throwing everting to one drive or it will perform the same?

Solution
Get one drive, don't bother with partitions. Make sure you have a backup drive also, can use your original drive for that with a USB enclosure.
