Is a Dell Inspiron 3650 desktop good enough for gaming 1080p at medium settings?

I am 100% clueless about building PC's and on a low budget.(I'm a console gamer btw(PS4 PRO). Recently I wanted to get a PC for light gaming. Mainly just for Fortnite, and RuneScape 3. Heres the link to my planned purchase. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Dell-Inspiron-3650-Desktop-Intel-Core-i5-8GB-Memory-1TB-HD-Silver/52129268?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=8474&adid=22222222228041069783&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=86479484929&wl4=pla-192618056929&wl5=9012076&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=115780212&wl11=online&wl12=52129268&wl13=&veh=sem

OK. If it is a financial situation, then you'd be the best judge.
$200/month x 12 months is $2400! Seriously?

W/o adding a discrete gfx card, you'll be limited to low settings on less graphically demanding games. If you don't want to be bothered adding a gfx card, look into a pre-built PC with a Ryzen APU instead. They have built-in graphics like the one you are looking at, but much more substantial. You can probably play at 1080p/medium settings then.
But for best gaming, you have to have a discrete gfx card. And they are expensive right now.

From what I can tell the Dell Inspiron 3650 desktop only has a 240w power supply (PSU). It is a Dell proprietary PSU meaning only Dell manufactures / sells a PSU that will fit in that case so you cannot simply replace it with a larger PSU that can deliver more power.

A 240w PSU does not give you many options when it comes to a GPU for the desktop. In a different forum I read that someone installed a GTX 1050ti in this specific desktop PC and there computer would occasionally crash when playing demanding games. That means the GPU is drawing too much power. Based on some reviews it seems the less powerful GTX 1050 only consumes around 5w less than the GTX 1050 Ti. That more or less means you will be restricted to using a GT 1030 GPU or it's AMD equivalent.

Something like this with a Ryzen quad core CPU and Vega integrated graphics is what I was suggesting as an alternative. It will allow decent medium setting gaming on all but the most graphically intense games. You can always add a discrete gfx card later. At any rate, it will be a lot better than the PC you found at Walmart.

The best gpu that you can add to this system with no change in power supply is the Zotac 1050 ti mini with the dual fans. It requires 10 watts less than the included radeon gpu and requires no power supply connections. It is much more capable than the included radeon r7 360 and plays every game from forza horizon 3 to mass effect andromeda at high to ultra settings at 1080p/60+ and quite a few titles at 1440p at 30/60 fps as well. I added the 1050 ti over a year ago back when it retailed at $149 on newegg and it continues to amaze me.

Last week I add a corsair sfx 600watt psu that fits in the case so I can upgrade to a 1080 ti mini should I choose, but that's another story for another time.

Well TBH I completely went over the original budget I planned on doing bc I have a feeling anything in the $500 range I'm going to be too unsatisfied with lol.. sooooo, I think I'm going to purchase a Dell Inspiron with Ryzen 5. And an rx570... It most likely overkill for what I want to use it for but. This should be good right? Lol

Can you provide a link to the system as you spec'd it out? Along with the cost Dell wants for it?

It'l be good, yes. But over-priced for what it has. On the other hand, you get Dell's service for awhile. If you're still undecided, check out Velocity PC. That is where I bought my last pre-built from. They are a high quality PC boutique that has good service and builds with all retail parts. No proprietary stuff like Dell uses.

Yeah I know it's prob like a couple $100 bucks over only reason why I'm going with qvc is because it's the cheapest financing I could find. I went to a couple websites to try and pay to own monthly(xidax, and nzxt) and they both wanted to charge me like $300+ a month for like 12 months. Qvcs only making like $200 profit from there payment plan lol

@clutchc yeah I mean the SMARTEST option would be to do that. But then again, I HAVE NO PATIENCE, LOL. But I mean qvc's deal ain't to bad it's $247 for 4 months. Then it's all paid off. And I can probably talk them down to 6 payments for even less. (They got really good costumer service)

Agreed with the others that a gaming pc with a rx 570 for $1000 is too much. The 1050ti is amazing for 1080p/60 high/ultra settings gaming, but if a gtx 1060 (6gb model, not 3gb) system should be well within your price range and will double the frame rate in 1440p. The rx 570 is slower than a gtx 1060 and uses more power.

Maybe later today or tomorrow I will post a video of the spec'd out inspirion 3650 and some benchmarks as well.
