Would the i5 8600k + 1070 GTX + DDR4-3000 be a good combo with 2160p 4K G-Sync monitor?

I am aware of the 60hz cap with 4K, but my question is would this GPU perform well with this monitor? I am looking to game casually with good fps, and not necessarily planning to game in 4k resolution.

Solution
A 1070 rocks just about anything at 1080p/60Hz and won't have too much of an issue at 1440p/60Hz either. But will be just fine at 4k for anything video/photo related.

Gtx1070 is good for 1440p at 60Hz. 2160p will be ok, but don't expect miricles in many of the new AAA titles. For 4k you'll be dropping settings to low/med for most newer games, although Sims and most mmorpgs that don't have the intense detailing will be good for med/high.

For decent fps in 4k at high settings basically requires at least a 1080 and to get ultra in many, a 1080ti. At 4k not even 1080ti sli gets ultra in everything.

I am planning to use the 4K's advantage for photo/video editing, not necessarily for gaming. So I am thinking for gaming I will downscale to 1440p or 1080p with higher settings, to get better fps? What do you think?

Yeah, or keep 4k and lower the resolution to 80%. As long as I hit 60fps even at a lower setting I'm good.
