My new HDD doesnt show up in windows 10

Hi i just bought new black WD 1TB hhd hard disk and i replaced it with my old 2nd hdd hard disk but it doesnt show up . it shows up in the BIOS menu but not the OS i also tried to check Device manger , computer management and Windows Memory Diagnostic didn't detect any problems
my motherboard is GA-H61M-S2PV
any help?

Disk Management is the right place, where you:

initialize the drive;
create partitions;
format partitions and
assign drive letters to partitions.

Post screenshot from Disk Management, if you can't figure it out.

Check the disk management. It probably needs a partition.

Sooo ... it's not there, and suddenly trivial problem just got a bit more complicated. Ok, next step is Device Manager - does your new drive name appears there? Or there also is only your SSD listed?

no..only the primary hdd that contain the OS, i had secondary hdd it was working fine and when i putted that one instead of it it didn't show up

Ok, so the Windows does not see it, at least as a drive. Are there any unrecognized devices listed in Device Manager? If no, then we're going back to BIOS. Check if the SATA port you connected the drive is set to AHCI mode and not IDE mode.

sorry for late answer, i tried to change it to AHCI and boot it with windows cd but it show up with 0MB besides in BIOS it shows up with 1000.2gb

Why booting with CD? Once it's set to AHCI, you should be able to boot normally to Windows. There it will probably show as 0 MB because it has no partitions on it yet.

You shouldn't change AHCI settings after installation of windows. Your OS will not boot anymore, if you do that.

Check, if your secondary drive is connected properly. Both cables have to be connected - sata power cable and sata data cable.

Select GPT if you plan to use the disk with Win10 only, MBR otherwise. Click OK. Then select how you want the disk to be divided in partitions (one or more, if more decide on size of each), then you should be able to format each created partition.

Try cleaning your drive and see, if that lets you see drive capacity in Disk Management.
Execute from elevated command prompt:

diskpart
list disk
select disk 1
clean
exit

If that doesn't help, I'm afraid your drive is dead.

Maybe try switching the SATA and power cables around to rule out a faulty or glitching cable/motherboard socket?

Last two things I can think if is, try to re-flash the latest BIOS for your motherboard, to get to completely reset, in case it's BIOS data corruption causing it. That will obviously reset everything in your BIOS, so writing down your settings isn't a bad idea. If that doesn't work, maybe try the disk with another PC or in a USB drive bay if you have access to one it fits in.
