Hi all. I'm trying to build a second computer as a hobby, only problem, is that the computer turns off after less than 0.5 seconds. I've poked around here and elsewhere online, but I've seriously run out of ideas...
Items I've switched out with working components from the other computer and subsequently tested the components that came out in the other computer and work fine.
PSU
Motherboard + CPU
RAM
Internal / External Power Cables
GPU
Yes, I basically switched out the entire computer except the frame, mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc.
Mobo: Asus B250
CPU: Intel BX80677G3930
RAM: 8GB Ballistix
PSU: EVGA 1600P2
GPU: 1080Ti
A lot of this is overkill, but I got some sweet deals on all of these components.
I have tried resetting the CMOS.
I have placed cardboard between the mobo standoffs to eliminate short circuits with the frame.
I have tried different outlets and have tested them with a circuit tester.
Is there something else I am missing? I haven't tried switching the Hard Drive, because it doesnt even get to BIOS.
Note: The frame is custom built (again, hobbying it up)
Note2: I am testing the working computer downstairs of my house and the computer upstairs is not working... I have not tried moving it yet, but I have not idea why that would make a difference...
