My motherboard is so old im not sure if a new power supply would be compatible

I was wondering if my motherboard Hewlett Packard 1494 would be compatible with an Evga 500 watt power supply. I looked at the motherboard but it looked much different than motherboards now. I just wanted to make sure if the power supply would be compatible so I don't waste my money. Thanks

Is this your motherboard? This does not have a standard 20-pin or 24-pin power connector, which the EVGA power supply uses.

some of the older hp and dells pc used there own type of power supply and a stock units will not work. if you can find the part number of the power supply google it see what cables are on it.

It would have been a non standard model HP bought from an OEM company at the time. It's unlikely you can find one now.
