Looking for a low budget laptop to perform video editing work at around $300.

Hey there, I’m in the market for a laptop that will perform well with video editing work on a daily basis. I was hoping to get something decent for a beginner at around $300. My local Best Buy has these 4 options: 1) Lenovo 14” Intel celeron 2gb ram 32gb emmc for $189 2) Dell inspiron 15.6” amd a6 Radeon r4 4gb ram 500 hdd for $229 3) Lenovo 15.6” Amd a12 series Radeon R7 8gb ram 1TB hdd for $299 4) HP 15.6 Touch screen Intel i3 8gb ram 1TB hdd for $369. Of course most people will think the most expensive is the best but remember I just want something that can perform the workload at the best bargain. Also is option #1 even a viable option with that type of ram and storage it has? Thanks in advance

You should have listed the HP (#4) i3 CPU model, which could also be a viable option.

The Lenovo (#3) with the AMD A12 APU, with 4 CPU cores will be the best performer from the list. It could have a small advantage over the i3 in multi-thread tasks, like video editing. Depending on the cooling used there could be performance limitation which could make the APU to drop performance under sustained workloads.

Appreciate the reply, yes that Lenovo is the one that catches my eye the most. By the way the model for the HP is 15-BS013DX, the model for the $299 Lenovo is 80XS00DJUS. Another difference I saw is that the HP has a cpu speed of 2.4ghz vs 2.7 for the Lenovo, but the Lenovo has 4.5 hours of battery life to hp’s 6.25 hours.

Since the Lenovo unit has more power that translate into less battery life.
CPU speed won't take you that far on video editing. You need CPU cores and the AMD A12 has 4 plus the R7 GPU that could also take over some of the video editing workload.

Okay I see, so looks like the Lenovo gives me best bang for my buck of all these options
