I've recently been having video output issues with my PC, so I tried switching monitors and from DVI to HDMI. The new HDMI cord works if plugged into the motherboard, but when I plug it into the graphics card I don't get any video out. The new monitor I'm trying is a TV, not sure if that changes anything. Any idea what the problem could be?

The button to press [continually after you turn the computer on] will be listed in your motherboard manual. Or you could google it.

Are you sure the GPU is working properly? Are the fans turning on, is it being recognised in device manager etc. Is it a new GPU? The GPU is most likely where the problem lies rather than within your monitor. Is it installed correctly?

Fans turn on, DVI out had been working for a long time from the GPU. No visible change or movement of the case before it stopped working.

Question from tristan.ahouse : "No output when HDMI plugged into video card, only works when plugged into mobo"

You could look in your UEFI/BIOS settings and make sure output is set to Card/PCIe.

How can I get to those settings? Also, if it doesn't work with that, would I be able to change it back without being able to view the screen?
