Invisible Hard Drive

Have just installed new WD Blue hard drive, to run with Windows 10. It appears normally in BIOS, but in Windows 10, go to File Explorer> This PC, and new drive does not appear (others do). Have swapped SATA cables, and ports, with no effect. Can't run WD's driver/utilities software - it just says "connect a WD drive"!! Similar story with WD's version of Acronis. Strangely, WD's check-up software "Data Lifeguard" CAN find the drive, and gives it clean bill of health! Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Solution
Right-click the Windows start button, choose Disk Management, and see if the drive appears there. You may need to initialize it. After that , create a partition and format it.
