I've recently bought new motherboard, ram and processor
MSI Z370 Gaming Plus, A-DATA XPG Red 16GB and i7 8700k
Problems started with windows installer, it would throw random errors when trying to format, delete or create partitions, but succeeding after few tries. During installation it would either throw error 0x80070057 and alike, or just stay stuck at 0% installation. After switching SATA cables, disconnecting and reconnecting everything and trying other HDD and SSD I've managed to install windows, but after few minutes of being on programs stop responding and eventually windows does too. After turning it off with the power button it shows shutting down screen and monitor turns off too, but pc keeps running, until the long power button press.
Any possible solutions? Or maybe mobo is just defective? Problems persist with or without GPU, so it's not that.

Solution
if you have an old power supply check that it powering the drive fine. if the power out of atx spec it can screw up drives if there on the same power wire.
start with the mb make sure it has the newest bios file on it. on your ram make sure it locked in and in the right ram slots. download memtest86 bootable usb tool. run it over night see if there any errors on your ram. clear the cmos see if the efi bios is locked up. if your still having issues check that the cpu is seated right and there no bent pins under the cpu.

Updated bios, memtest returned 0 errors. I've tracked the issue to hard drives, there seem to be no problems if only system ssd is conneccted. However if i connect more drives the problem returns. Since i tried both cables provided with mobo and my old ones and problem persists with different drives, I'd wager its a defective mobo
