The computer detects the HDD in the boot option but it wont start, im using a 450w psu (working) and a yellow cable connected to the motherboard which i put in the hdd (dunno the name of the cable) ive tried with 2 different HDDs, same result

Hi

modern hard disks need 2 cables

SATA data cable
(narrow cable 4 wires) no standard for color
from motherboard to disk

SATA power cable
(wide cable)
from power supply to disk

are both connected?

have you tried different SATA data cable ? (in case cable faulty)
or differnet SATA port on motherboard ?

regards
