Solution
If you get a Ryzen 1600, you wont need to flash the bios on any 300 series motherboard. In your case you are getting a b350, so it will be fine. However, if you were to get a 2600 and pair it with a 300 series motherboard, then the motherboard will require a bios flash in order for it to work on the second generation CPUs.
What are you going to use the system for? If you are gaming, then I would go with Intel's 8400 over the 1600. The 1st generation Ryzen CPUs are behind Intel in gaming. But if this is a workstation, then the 1600 will be an excellent choice.

The 2600 is very close to the 8400, but it will be more and then you will have to figure out bios updates if you go with a cheaper motherboard.

The other advantage for Intel is memory speed. Intel CPUs dont scale well with high speed memory whereas AMD CPUs really need the higher speed RAM to get the most out of your system. So RAM is cheaper with an Intel rig.

You will also need a GPU if this is a gaming rig. The 1050ti is a decent budget GPU, but it has been out for awhile. Considering GPU prices have dropped, I would strongly recommend getting a 1060 6gb or 580 8gb for a gaming rig.

If you are gaming and drop a 1060/580 in this rig, then it will be better than a budget rig, it will be a mid-range system.

I use the pc for gaming/editing that's why I went with the 1600 and sorry I forgot to add my 1050 ti on there :D

oh for the ryzen 1600 you dont need a bios update thats for the ryzen 2600

I would go for the intel route

i5 8400
z370 motherboard

psu sucks defenetly get a new psu(corsair cx 550w for instance or seasonic focus gold)

still drop the ssd 120 is too low even for os and small programs

If you are editing, go with AMD all the way. Here is an AMD rig for $100 more that will edit videos like a beast and can game well too.

This is the previous gen AMD that is $70 less. To me, I would go with the current generation. Not necessarily because it is so much better, but the x470 platform is more mature and RAM compatibility is not nearly as big of an issue.

I think im going to stick with the 1600 bcs atm there is a fat discount for the motherboard and cpu I will save like 100 euros with it :) But I know a little about pcs but I have no clue about motherboards so should I buy a bit more expensive motherboard or will this do ?

So I need to update the bios with this motherboard ? some people say they can't do it them self that they need a different cpu for it.
and is it hard to update bios by yourself ? (if I can)
