Hello everybody!
I am currently picking out parts for my new PC. This is my first time picking them myself and I would just like to ask the community, if you think that these components work / if there are cheaper, better alternatives / if I forgot something.
I do already have two HDD's, one with Windows 10 and I also have an optical drive.

Those are my components:

Corsair Crystal 570X RGB (Midi Tower)
MSI X299 RAIDER (LGA 2066, Intel X299, ATX)
Intel Core i5-7640X X-Series (LGA 2066, 4GHz, Unlocked)
Arctic Freezer 33 TR (15.50cm)
Gainward GeForce GTX 1070 Phoenix (8GB, High End)
Corsair VS650 (650W)
HyperX Fury (2x, 8GB, DDR4-2400, DIMM 288)
Seagate BarraCuda (4TB, 3.5", Desktop, NAS)
Samsung 860 EVO Basic (250GB, 2.5")

Thank you for your help!

Why would you choose an X299 system with a 4 core CPU? An I5-8400 or even an i7-8700K with a Z370 motherboard would probably be cheaper.

Your existing Windows 10 installation probably won't work as-is. You will probably have to do a clean OS install for optimum results.

I first picked the CPU and this was one of the only motherboard available (for me) to buy. Your alternatives were about the same price as my CPU and motherboard.

Isn't it possible to copy the OS from my HDD to the SSD I want to buy?

Both of my suggested CPUs have more physical cores than your 7640X CPU. They are also a generation newer in implementation. You are paying premiums for the X299 platform that you aren't using. Don't waste your money on an X299 based system.

No, you probably can't just copy your Windows installation to an SSD. It has the registry configuration for your previous build. The smartest thing is to do a clean OS install. That way there are no "ghosts" in your registry and you get rid of accumulated junk that you have installed over time.

So they are faster even though they have 0.2 and 0.8 GHz less?

Is that really necessary? I mean, will those "ghosts" mess with performance?

If not booting is messing with performance then yes. That is a possible outcome. Sound problems and USB problems are the other common problems.

200Mhz is a small difference and can often be offset by more efficient execution of those Mhz. Cache, number of cores, RAM speed, many things contribute to total system performance. Don't get hung up on tiny clock speed differences. If you get the 8700K you can overclock it to make up any clock speed deficit.

Oh alright, seems like I will have to do that.

But comparing the 9700K to with one I chose shows, that the 9700K is significantly better, but it's also two times as expensive. Is this really worth it?

Do you also know, if I might need additional fans?
