I5-8600k 4.7ghz at 1.000V

Okay so, i keep reading that everyone seems to be having trouble with the I5-8600k and overclocking without raising the voltage by that much. Ive been running at 4.7 ghz for about a month now after benching it for hours and im 100 percent perfectly stable, and my temps NEVER get above 55c at around 90 percent load. H100i v2 is my cooler. I mean, did i just hit the CPU lotto? Or are the forums im reading BS?

someone hit the silicon lotto have fun with your cpu if you dont need such a powerful one maybe sell it at a high price to someone and buy the same cpu again

. Negatives of having a micro build. Cant find a case with great airflow and that looks flashy

Are you certain you are reading the vcore correctly?
1.000 seems out of line.

at a agressive vcore of 1.4 or so and delidded
4.9 98%

Well, in games such as The Witcher, i do get 100 percent CPU usage and some pretty bad stuttering. I just feel that having the most badass GPU would like to be accompanied by the most badass processor.

Run cpu-Z.
Run a stress app.
CPU-Z should show your core speed at 4700mhz and your vcore(labeled core VID) properly.
If it shows 1.00 or thereabouts you have scored a golden chip and can go higher.

Is there a problem with cpud?
What do you use now to measure vcore?

You could also try Intel XTU.

Is it possible that the 1.000 reading you have is the initial vcore, not the vcore that is currently running when overclocked.

I am using Intel XTU. The max voltage was 1.100, but it was only there for a few seconds durring a 15 minute bench.

Also, would you happen to have any knowledge about how much of a difference i would see in the temp of the air that would be blowing out of my radiator if i were to get an I7-8700k? I ask because i can only have my radiator blowing inwards, and i dont want to blow that hot air onto all my components. Thats literally the only reason i didn't get an I7-8700k in the first place.
