Issue:
Boot Light LED showing green and cannot get a monitor display to BIOS.

Set Up
Mother Board: Asus Z370-A
CPU: Intel - I7-8700 LGA 1151
Graphics: EVGA Geforce GTX 1060 6GB
Ram: Samsung 2 * 8GB (8GB 1Rx8 PC4 - 2400T - UA2-11 / M378A1k43CB2 - CRC)
SSD: Samsung 500GB 860 EVO
HDD: Seagate 3TB Barracuda
PSU: Corsair CX 650M

Test performed to date:

Full Set up. Result: Green Boot LED & no display.
Removed the Motherboard Battery and no power for 30 secs: Result: Green Boot LED & no display.
Full Set up - Graphics. Result: Green Boot LED & no display. (HDMI Connection to the Monitor direct from Motherboard)
Full Set up - 1 RAM strip: Result: Green Boot LED & no display.
Full Set up - 1 RAM strip - Graphics Result: Green Boot LED & no display.

All other POST tests appear to Pass as lights go on and off.

I have a theory that the RAM and the Motherboard may not be compatible as there is nothing else I can take off. The original build planned to use Corsair RAM although you did not have in stock and recommended the Samsung.

Any thoughts?

Memory is usually not the cause of not getting a display of some kind. It may not post, but you should see something. Samsung makes good RAM, so I doubt its that.

This sounds like a bad motherboard or something wacky with your monitor.

check the bios of the mb (last 4 numbers) make sure the rev at a rev that post the new cpu chip. if not see if your mb has the usb flashback port. on the no post it can be a bad power supply. just had mine fail after 6 years on may z77 sabertooth. the green led was on...but looking at it it was blinking and not on full time. swapping the power supply out fixed my issues.

Quick update, still have the issue. I have done a speaker test now and get a single short beep, :) I have also done CMOS jumpers short. Still Green LED and no screen. Am in slow dialogue with Asus support.

Thanks, I have gone back to a HDMI direct to MB, I’m not getting screen so cannot change any BIOS settings. Did I understand you.

Also does the Green LED mean a boot issue or is it OK state?

Update, ASUS Support Centre has changed the MB, it seems that it had a faulty HDMI feed.

So now I am looking for my Bluetooth & Wifi which seems not to be an option in Windows, on further review I cannot see on the product spec either Wifi/ Bluetooth, that was a surprise, assuming that the Asus Z370-A does not have one is there any recommendation as to which is the best one to install?
