Hello everyone,

i am currently building ryzen 2200g system and i am kinda worried about ram compatibility.
I am thinking about one of these motherboards:
1.MSI B350M PRO-VDH

2.MSI B350 TOMAHAWK

3.MSI B350M BAZOOKA

4.GIGABYTE GA-AX370M-DS3H ( read somewhere that its kinda trash...)

5.GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming

probably going to go with tomahawk(its the best....correct me if im wrong).

I just dont know what ram to buy so it can be compatible with it...
If anyone can help me and look up on this website(site for pc parts and stuff)
https://ipon.hu/shop/csoport/szamitogep-komponens/memoria?40=7282&128=484&391=7443%2C7396%2C7283%2C6193%2C4014
with preconfigured filters for ddr4 and frequencies...

found cheap gskill aegis at 3000mhz ... will i be able to run it at 3000mhz?
Or should i get some other ram?

Thank you!

The ASRock AB350 Pro4 AM4 is an excellent Motherboard for the price. As far as RAM speed with Ryzen 3000 or 3200 is generally considered the best option since Ryzen like faster RAM.

All you will have to do is then on XMP in the BIOS to enable the advertised RAM speed.

Just make sure the motherboard supports the 2200G chip, I think by now all the manufacturers have updated their BIOS' but you never know. And if you get an old stock motherboard that doesnt have the updated BIOS you will either have to borrow a normal Ryzen chip, or get the boot kit AMD offers. (basically they will send you a Ryzen 1200 that you then send back)

From what I've heard, the boot kit doesn't contain a Ryzen processor, but rather a dual-core A6-9500 APU based on their older architecture. They wouldn't want to send out anything worth stealing after all. : P The Ryzen 1200 doesn't include integrated graphics either, so it wouldn't help anyone without a graphics card to perform an update.

I recommend the MSI B350 TOMAHAWK. It's a bit slow (for boot-up times) but other than that it's great. It has excellent memory support and it is reliable. I already recommended it to 3 friends and they have not had a single problem so far. Before that, I had the ASRock AB350m Pro4 (mATX) that had several freezing problems and one of my friends had the GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming that had a memory compatibility problem.

To make sure the memory is 100% compatible, you need to look at the qvl list: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-TOMAHAWK#support-mem-13
