Hi everyone. Just recently installed a new motherboard, CPU, SSD, and RAM into my build one week ago. Everything was secured and installed properly. The computer turned on and was working fine until today. No display on monitor or post beep is noted when I turn my computer on. All fans and lights except for my mouse and keyboard are working when turned on. I have done all the basic troubleshooting with no luck. Also, before the incident occurred, I noticed that my screen would turn black for 1-2 seconds then return back to normal at times during gaming. Is this a problem with the video card or motherboard? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

My current build:
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
MOBO: MSI Z370-A PRO
CPU: Intel Core i5-8600K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz C16 (PC4-19200)
GPU: EVGA GTX 660
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB
PSU: Thermaltake 750W
Case: Rosewill Gaming ATX Full Tower

because the screws you where using was not he one for the standoff post so board in upper way was sliding and making a short look at the second picture on this link you see the back of a motherboard and the hole where standoff screws goes in and al those little tiny soldering wire and dot point near them so if board is not set in correctly one of the could have touch the stand off and made contact with the case https://www.pcper.com/reviews/Motherboards/ASUS-Maximus-VIII-Extreme-Motherboard-Review/Features-and-Motherboard-Layout that was your issue so this also made the monitor cable outside shield to touch case and ground .

I have tried removing the cpu to use the onboard with the monitor with no luck. Monitor still display nothing and no beep. Also (I don't know if this is a significant detail), when I turn the computer on with no RAM in place, I do not hear multiple beeps. I've also confirmed that the monitor works fine as it is able to display an image when connected with laptop. I appreciate the feedback, but if there is any other suggestion I would be glad to try it out. Thank you.

I do not have a spare computer to test out the memory on as my old build is not compatible with the DDR4 memory. I will purchase another RAM and see if that works. I'm also curious if this is an issue with the motherboard since nothing displays when I swapped out another GPU in. Should I should return the motherboard for a new one or wait for the new RAM to come in first?

So I placed my new RAM into each slot with no changes noted. I also tested both memory stick on my friend's computer and both seems to be running fine so any problem pointing to the RAM is ruled out. What is interesting though is that when the tower is placed on its side and not standing straight up, the computer will boot up with the monitor displaying the image. What can be the cause of this as I have never experienced this before. I have also securely placed everything tight in its place.

Update: What is also interesting is that everything will boot normally to home screen and be functioning properly when the tower is laying flat down. However, when I stand the tower back up, everything seems to freeze and not function properly. I will tighten everything up again and see if that will fix the problem.

Update 2: I have finally resolved the problem. It seems my motherboard was not held in place securely. After removing the motherboard and using the correct screws to lock the motherboard in place, it began to display image on the monitor again. If anyone knows the reason why the display does not work because the motherboard was slightly loose, please educate me because I have never heard or had this problem before.

Thank you for helping me. I appreciate the help and quick response scout_03 :)
