I'm just about to make an order from Amazon.ca and want to make sure the components are in agreement with each other. Here's my list:
AMD Ryzen 3 1300X Desktop Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler (YD130XBBAEBOX)

Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming (AMD Ryzen AM4/ X370/ SMART FAN 5/ HDMI/ M.2/ 2xUSB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A/ ATX/ DDR4 Motherboard)

Thanks for the quick response. I have a PCIe 2Ghz card.
Tell you what happened. I built my current system 10 years ago and all of a sudden weird things; slower than molasses in January; not recognizing any of my three hard drives blah blah so figured it's time to update. Being retired and everything going up except my pension chose an AMD processor for what I think is an acceptable road to take.

On my previous system I was overclocked from 266 to 3.4. i kinda like pushing things a bit. On graphics card I meant to say Gb not Ghz. So yeah I like to overclock a bit, but maybe I won't this time; maybe it was overclocking that messed my ten year old system.

you are making some seriously bad choices

get an i3 8100 or i5 8400 with a b360 mobo

unless you have a gtx 1080 ti you dont need a 750w power supply either

Hmm OK; never heard of that one (axmp). UEFI is new to me however since I got my laptop last year. Thanks.

Why do you say "serious mistake:? On checking prices I see these CPU's aren't any more expensive so my go that route. I wonder if my CoolerMaster V8 that is now on a, i5 266 processor will fit on the i5 8400

Meant to say 2GB and it's just a cheap Zotac for PCIe x2 I think. Can't remember all the stats, but good enough for me.

Assuming this is the GT 730 you referred to earlier -- your posts are extremely opaque -- then there's no real purpose for a build like this if gaming is involved, since it would just be wasted with this GPU. But if this is just a casual use PC, then the GPU doesn't really matter that much, but you certainly don't need this in the way of parts.

Sorry, but this build is just a mess right now. Can you tell us what you plan to use a new PC for and some information about the things you have? Remember, we don't know your needs or the things you have, so when you're extremely unclear about things, then we're unclear about things.

I'm not a gamer; other than my Chessmaster. So basically regular home use, internet stuff. I don't need any hard drives. I just like to stay reasonably up to date on stuff with a lively system.
My updated list is:

You don't need any of this stuff then. Do you do any kind of high-end productivity work?

If not, and you're just surfing the web and watching videos and stuff, you're still way too ambitious, getting parts you'll never get any real value from.
