Is it okay to add a 2gb ddr3 ram to 4gb ddr3

Soo i have a pc with these specs
Intel core i3 3220
4gb ram ddr3
Nvidia gt 1030
500gb hdd
and i want to add 2gb of ram so it could become 6gb .. will it work fine for me ??

[strike]No, you cant connect DDR2 and DDR3.
Some motherboard have two DDR2 and two DDR3 slots but they can only work alone. (2xDDR2 or 2xDDR3)

I Have an hp elite 8300 which supports up to 32 gb ram .. and btw i didn't ask if i could upgrade from 2gb to 4gb but i asked if i could add 2gb to the 4gb i already have without issue

Yes, you can add 2GB with existing 4GB stick without any issue. I would recommend adding an 8GB stick instead.

General guideline to follow when installing different sizes, is to install the larger size stick first and then followed by the smaller ones.

By the same stick do you mean Same brand or capacity ?
