what are the best chrome extensions for security & privacy ?

i know chrome extensions may not be as big of a deal as a original anti virus like avg and avira but i'm asking this question because first chrome extensions are simple to use and second they're lighter to download so is there any working chrome extension that can really disable trackers, spyware, malware & other privacy-harming stuffs ?

Problem with chrome is it is made by google one of the worst offenders of tracking. Not sure how you really know if they prevent tools like adblocker of ghostery from blocking google itself. On firefox you see massive amounts of hits in ghostery from google and its related sites.

Although it is very painful to use a script blocker is you best bet. You manually enable every script on every web site as you hit them. Some websites you have to experiment to see which scripts are really critical and which are trash.
