I currently have a AMD A4 6300 and I have been recommended the FX 8120 but I am relatively new to pc gaming and I’m not sure if the fx is comparable with my motherboard. The motherboard model is A68HM-K

Solution
Its not compatible, as your motherboard is an FM2+ socket and the 8120 is an AM3+ processor.
That aside, that processor would not be worth any upgrade, even when it was new.

Look into a new motherbard, RAM, and processor. Get something modern.

It's not exactly related, but that Rainbow Six Siege(with HD textures) you play handles just fine on both of the desktop PC's I currently have.

Desktop 1 is an i5-4690k, 16gb ddr3 & a gtx 1070 ti -------- Desktop 2 is an i7-4770, 16gb ddr3 & a gtx 1050 ti
(both desktops run the game at 1080p w/ high graphics settings and get smooth gameplay)
