Okay building my first gaming rig and been having a good amount of problems but narrowed it down to one, no video, I have replaced every component on it other than the Gpu and the motherboard, and i just tested my gpu on another computer a couple weeks ago and it was fine, can anyone help.

Build:

CPU: core 2 duo e7500
gpu: BFG Geforce 280
MOBO: Asus P5n-e
PSU: Coolermaster elite v2 550w
RAM: Kingston 1.5v pc2-6400 4gb
HDD: 7200rpm 320gb
Case: Deepcool Tesseract

Solution
I remember getting a BFG Tech FX 5900 Ultra for $599 from Fry's. That was the 2nd time I spent over $500 on a video card. The 1st time was an Obsidian X-24 Voodoo2 SLi card.

I wouldn't mind having those cards again and putting them on a display case ^_^

Ok, first of all you have a BFG Tech GPU? Freaken Cool dude. Second of all, you said you tested everything except the motherboard? Then good chance it is the motherboard. Also, it may be possible your motherboard may not have the correct BIOS update to support your CPU and you may need to get a CPU much farther back on the CPU support page list to get it working and install the new BIOS to make it work with your E7500. BIOS revision 1301 or newer is required for the E7500 to run.

Not to be harsh but your system is more of an outdated and it will not last much longer with OS support and new games. My sincere suggestion would get it updated to the new one if you want to enjoy new gaming and powerful performance.

I'm fairly certain the OP knows this, I have a system similar to it myself, I have an I3 3220 and a Radeon HD 5450. By the way it sounds this was the best the OP can afford anyways, I don't see the point of posting this reply as it doesn't help the OP in any way. So, please, unless you have some useful information that isn't obvious or not worth mentioning then don't waste out time, not to be harsh or anything. :)

True i was kinda working on a budget i have a much better build in mind i'm just saving till I can buy the parts for it, this was cheap and will work for what I want it too for now.

No problem, my first time posting on here I had issues with people telling me stuff that was irrelevant or not even trying to answer my question at all, I understand how it feels to have people say your hardware is old or underpowered, which is what happened to me, or have them say something unrelated to the question. Also, try the 0202 revision CPU and try and do a BIOS update, I bet it won't work because the BIOS isn't updated enough to support the Core 2 Duo E7500

I think it's the motherboard now it turns out i was using the older cpu all along i tried with the core 2 duo to make sure that the cpu wasn't the problem, so i believe it is the mobo, i mean i guess you get what you pay for on ebay.

Haha, yeah. It is still possible the BIOS is the issue, but highly unlikely at this point. How long ago did you buy the board you may still be able to return it.

Yeah, it kinda stinks that BFG Tech went out of business, they had some cool stuff. I wouldn't mind having one either for display, or to use because my Radeon HD 5450 is crap.
