i have a gigabyte ga-970-dsp3 motherboard that wont boot with all 4 ram slots filled. using ddr3 pc3-14900 in all slots. tried upping the voltages in the bios but even after doing that it gets to the windows screen but never progresses any further. i have tried all voltages between 1.5 and 1.9v but nothing seems to help any ideas?oh and each slot does work by itself and when at at least 1.75 v the bios will recognize all 4 slots and chips. so i am not to sure what is going on that it wont boot to windows. running win7 ult 64 bit

if you are asking if they are all the same size (GB) then no. 2 of them are 4GB sticks the other 2 are 8 GB sticks. if you are asking about speed then yes they are all ddr3 pc3 14900. the 2 8gb sticks are in slots 1 and 3 the 2 4gb sticks are in slots 2 and 4. and all the ram sticks do work and the slots also work . tested them one slot at a time.

As you have found out, matching ram speed has little do do with individual modules working with each other and one reason why manufacturers sell ram kits with multiple sticks that will.

Try booting with just 1 stick, entering the bios and dropping the ram speed to 1333. Save, exit, power off and install all 4 and see if it will work.

did you not read where i stated that i checked one ram slot at a time and all 4 ram slots and chips worked, and lowering the speed is not necessary since my motherboard will support up to 2100MHz ram. and why the HELL would i lower my ram speed? are you an idiot? isnt the whole for getting fast ram to be able to use that speed?
