Modding Skyrim VR has its hooks in me and I've turned to gpu oc'ing to grab some more precious frames.

Here is my setup:
i7-8700 not oc'd
Zotac GTX 1080 FE (oc settings below)
EVGA H370 Gaming Plus
16 GB (8GB x 2) DDRAM Ballistix Sport LT 2666 MT/s
Windows 10 installed on an SSD, Skyrim VR installed on a separate SSD

Using MSI Afterburner, I've got a seemingly stable profile at:

Core Voltage: stock
Power Limit: 120%
Temp. Limit: 92°
Core Clock: +240 MHz
Memory Clock: +500 MHz

With this setup, I have to keep my gpu fan running at 100% speed to keep the temp at a steady 82° under full load (tested with Kombustor).

My question is whether or not that's safe? VR is the only thing that would push it that high, and I envision 1-3 hour sessions several times a week.

From what I've read, both 100% fan speed and 82° are within safety recs but I just want a ballpark idea of the risks involved. I understand I am probably decreasing the gpu life but is it likely to be a significant decrease? Are there risks to any of my other components, like my Mobo or pcu (which is a few inches from my gpu).

I realize that I need to address the cooling situation in my case. I'm planning on looking into that but I'm hoping that this is a tenable situation to game with in the meantime.

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Here's my cooling situation in case anyone is interested:

The gpu fan is the only fan I have adjusted from factory settings. Aside from that I have two intake fans on the front of the case, and two exhaust fans, one on the top and the other on the back of the case. I've got a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo on the cpu. Most of the holes in the pc have filters which I spray out with air every once and a while.
