My pc wont boot or open bios. One day while using my computer it shutted off by itself and after a few seconds it turned on, then i got the "bios is updating screen" and i don't remember enabling automatic updated on my bios. I left the computer update for the whole night and by noon of the next day it was still on the same screen, so even though i knew resetin or turning it off could result in boot failure i still shut off my pc.

After that i tried turning it on and my motherboard leds where on but the power button wasn't working so i disconected the power supply cable and pressed the power button for a few seconds, then conected the power supply cable back and i tried turning it on afterwards. Sadly my power button didn't work so i tried shutting down the power supply and disconecting and conecting the power button cable from the motherboard and tried turning it on and it worked but i got the same bios is updating screen and left it there for another whole night.

The next morning it was still updating and just like before i turned the pc off and tried to restore the bios as instructed on my motherboard user manual, but i got no luck so i looked on some forums and ended up trying a lot of stuff like swaping my ram to other slot, trying one ram at a time, reseting RTC and removing CMOS battery.

After trial and error i got it to boot and it opened windows normaly and i left it on for a while. After ten minutes or so i reset the pc and i got a black screen with all the motherboard leds on. After that i have been spending my days disconecting and conecting the power button cable, swaping ram slots and reseting CMOS and RTC. Sometimes i get to load windows, some times it wont boot at all but my leds are on, sometimes the power button wont work, sometimes i get the bios is updating screen, sometimes i get to open bios and boot windows but the pc turns off by itself after a while.

Its frustrating, and after the same troubleshooting process i've been doing for days i am now stuck on the "ASUS" screen unable to boot or open bios. Whay should i do? I dont have spare components to replace and see if i got a hardware issue because this is my first pc.

You have a fairly above mid tier PC, what about a GPU? It is possible the IGPU on your I5 is giving issues and won't display outs.

Ok, well I would start looking about now, I just say a GTX 1080 8gb Turbo OC card for 539 and change, a card that would have cost over 800 dollars last year.

Have you tried re-seating your CPU/CPU Cooler? Also have you tried just using a single RAM Module on the primary slot? Try disconnecting all SSDs and Mechanical Drives. Also remove the CMOS Battery for a few minutes and try to boot into BIOS.

Ok here is an update, I tried pressing shift and power button but got no luck, i also re-seated the cpu and its cooler and used only one stick on the primary slot, disconected hdd and ssd and removed cmos battery but its still having issues.

I swaped components with a cousin's computer. We discarded my ssd, hhd, psu, ram and cpu. So i guess the problem is my motherboard. I wanted to make sure that my case was not shorting out so i went barebones but i still got the same problems.

After i read the manual i found out that my motherboard has some led used for trouble shooting and the cpu led is on so i checked and i got no bent pins, also i found out something strange. My pc turns on when it wants to even when i short it with a screwdriver and after a while it turns off by itself or it gets stuck at the asus screen without opening bios or POSTing just like before. And this also happened when my pc was barebones.
