Hi,

I bought a new bluetooth speaker of HP (S6500 Wireless Mini Speakers).

I was able to pair this with my FIRE HD 8 and listen music with youtube etc.,

But when I use Skype, the speaker is not working either for audio or for mic. When I change settings to Device speaker skype audio works back.

So, i would like to understand how to connect. Some where I read fire doesn't support BT Mic. But there should be some alternative i think like google play for fire.. Please help.

When used with Skype or phone, your speakers switches into "headset" moded where both microphone and speaker (mono, low quality) work. It seems Microsoft and/or Amazon did not think that someone is going to use Skype on Fire with BT headset.

You can enable GooglePlay on your FireHD, instructions are available on popular Android forum. And yes, don not PM me for that forum.

Thanks for your response, Seems you didn't get my question. There is no issue from M$. Skype settings are by default changing to BT headset as and when I connect to bluetooth. The problem is with Amazon. In amazon website it is clearly given a Note that "Bluetooth microphones and microphone-enabled headsets devices may be compatible but are not supported." https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201829480

So, i am looking for an alternative similar to google play solution for FIRE. (I am already using Google play on my Fire) hope this is clear now, i am looking for tweaking Fire to allow BT mic . (Note the same BT speaker working fine with Skype on my REDMI 1s mobile )

And it seems you did not got my answer. It might not be supported, and that's up to Amazon' decision whether to bother or not.

If you have Google Play on your fire, what other alternative you're looking for? Some unknown Chinese Android Market place?

If you can't fit a bike in your Z3, you put it in your X5 - as simple as that. If Fire does not work for you, get a Note - as simple as that.

Hi Albalcho,

I didn't get what you are trying to say. I didn't make any wrong statements. If you think so , i will ask for an apology.

If a fire doesn't suit for me I can't buy a note. Its neither in my budget nor in my plan. If some thing is not working as expected people look for solutions to make it work. That is why we will reach this kind of techincal forums.

Fire doesn't support google play store. Some tech savvy guys didn't take it for granted. They didn't move to other tabs which support google play. They tweaked code and came up with a patch to work with google play store.

Now for me some thing is not working (viz bluetooth mic) so i came to tomshardware forum to see if there is any solution. Some minor tweak in code might help, but I am not a tech guy to dig code and come up with a solution. I am asking those tech guys if they can help.

Hope you understand my issue, i am looking for google play or chinese market app.
