Hey guys , I saw lotta videos for rysen 2600 and 8600k . There is 10 to 25 fps diff based on games . But I'm confused whether the upcoming games will be bottleneck'd by rysen 2600 with gtx 1080ti . Budget $350 and I prefer rysen bcoz I can upgrade the processor next year for zen 2 if it has nice improvements or zen 3 and storeMI (Main reason to prefer rysen). Otherwise I would have bought the i5 8600k . What do I do help plz ..

Solution
No, a 2600 will not bottleneck a 1080ti, especially at 1440p. When you move to higher resolution, such as 1440p or 4k, the GPU has to work a lot harder than it does at 1080p or 720p. The bottleneck moves from the CPU to the GPU. This is why when you look at gaming benchmarks of the 2600 and the 8600 at 1440p and 4k, there is little difference. At 1080p there is a 5-10% difference.

When you get to higher resolution, the CPU matters less and the GPU matters more. The 2600 and the 8600k are both great CPUs for gaming. It is like comparing a Lamborghini and a Ferrari. You really can go wrong with either. But if you are performing workstation task that can make use of the extra threads of the 2600, then the 2600 is a really good...

Intel is better at the high refresh rate gaming. So in your case thte 8600k (8700 would be better but is a lot more expensive) is the best option.

It depends on the game, some games don't run well on the i5 8600k at 1440p 144hz for example, battlefield 1 has all 6 cores running at 90-100% at all times and a 1080ti at 70% being the bottleneck. You're correct the i5 usually brings better gaming performance but not in every game such as bf1. Games that utilise more than 6 cores 6 threads will run better on the r5 2600 due to the 2600 having additional threads.
