Hi,

My isp provides me a 150mbps FTTH connection but the problem is at night exactly after 9pm (indian standard time) my speed is reduces to below 15mbps and this happens everyday.

Note:
1) I am using speedtest.net to measure my internet speed.

2) Speedtest is performed on Pc via Lan cat6 cable

3) no other device is connected to wifi as wifi mode disabled when checking speed on speedtest.net

4) Downloads from google very slow but when I try torrent some give full speed ie at a download rate of 20Mb/s but YouTube videos buffer and google downloads are also very slow

another thing to check is if you have a wifi network is it opened or locked. use a 3 party tool see how many people are on it and if you have any leachers. also if your vendor router is one with two radios one for you and one for a free hot spot. see if people are using free/open connection and causing all your bandwith to be used.
it could be the dns server of your isp gets over loaded. look at google dns server settings and open dns and other free dns servers. go into your router and set the dns info then reboot your pc see if anything changes. if not then there some bad or overloaded isp hardware.

Another thing you might check is the signal strength of the cable modem during daytime and nighttime. Go into the diagnostic page for the cable modem, usually a ip address like 192.168.100.1 or similar. You can look it up for your specific modem. Check the signal to noise ratio. Below 30db is where you will have connection difficulty and maybe even slower speeds. I just looked at mine and its sitting at 37.6db and it runs great all the time.

Yeah make sure the password isn't default. I know like half of the people in my apartments still use default password for their wifi so anyone can look at the name of the wifi signal NETGEAR1234 Router 2G or something like that and then type in default password and log in.

Make the password a sentence instead of something short. ThisRouterissittingnexttomymonitor1234

It is not likely any equipment issue when it happens based on time of day. The most likely cause is all the other people competing for bandwidth. Most time problems start about when people get home from work until they go to bed.

Many ISP over sell the connection and put too many people on one segment. This problem is not as common any more because the connections are so fast but I know little of india ISP.

There may not be much you can do about it. You could ping and tracert to various VPN providers. It may be only some of the connections between your ISP and other ISP overloaded. If that is true and you happen to find a vpn provider you get good response times from maybe the VPN provider has a path to the other locations that is better.
