Hello guys,

I have problem with GTA 5. The game runs 50-60 fps+, but my problem is freeze lag/shutter. When I played the game for first time I don't have problem with lags. Now the game runs with big lags/shutter when hard disk usage in task manger is 100%. In this video you can see the lags : have lags when driving fast on roads who are not explored form starting game, when entering for first time in places (ammo-nation, apartament...), when landing on the ground. I play GTA 5 on my laptop. I am buyed my laptop (Asus X550JK) before 2 years. The game start shuttering after 5 min gameplay. One day GTA 5 lagged for 3 seconds and crashed.

Heres my spec : Intel Core I7 4710HQ 2.50 GHz, up to 3.50 GHz 6 GB Ram GTX 850M 1 TB 5400rpm Hard Disk.

The game has a period when stop shuttering. After 1-2 months the game little by little starts again lagging. The same happens when I reinstall my Windows/PC. I want to buy external SSD. It will fix the lag/shutter? Im tried different methods from youtube to stop lags without effect - disabling supperfech, win search, win event log/collector, making settings from nVidia control panel, updating nVidia drivers, making fps limit with Dxtroy, making virtual RAM and more... Please help. I really want to play GTA 5 Online without lags. Thanks in advance.

Laptops due to their tiny size get heated rapidly... try installing an external cooler... update drivers...clean your lappy by a vacuum cleaner, cause dust might be making it hotter which results in lags and stutter. if you still facing problem try leaving at least 10GB space in each of your hard drive. Your Ram should be at least 8 GB. while playing gta 5, minimise it and check your task manager, if you see anything reaching 100% then that must be the reason of stuttering. The last step i would say is to reinstall fresh copy of windows.

I used to get this back when GTA 5 was fun and had to do a lot of digging around to fix this issue. My PC was more than capable of playing GTA 5 at max setting so I was sure it's a software problem. What fixed the problem for me was turning off any fps counters like the one in steam or in nVidia's geforce experience. (Pretty sure it was geForce fps counter).
