I just purchased a 50 Meter Cat5e cable to run from my router to my PC. I plugged it all in and expected it to work, but no, it flickered from identifying network to off and repeating that process every 10 seconds or so. However, I went to test of the cable was broken, so I plugged in a second router (that doesn’t have very good performance) to the original router, and it worked fine. (This is where it gets strange) I plug the cable back into the original router and it works *BUT* only while gaming, as soon as I open an update for windows or open Google Chrome it will crash the internet but still stay connected. (Netcomm **** No internet secured) until I turn the router on and off.

This rules out any cable problem.

Cat 6 did work when I used a 10 meter cable

What I want to make clear is that it worked for playing games, but as soon as I open anything else that uses internet it crashes.

Honestly I have no idea what to do.
Ive tried forcing 100mbs/10/1gbs but nothing works. As far as I know it is either a router or PC issue.

*What I have done to trouble shoot*

1. Turn the router on and off with the cable plugged in

2. Re-install gigabit drivers

3. Try a older router (worked)

4. Uninstall other drivers that could have interfered

5. Tried forcing different speeds

Over view:

1. Started off not working
2. Forced to 10mbs
3. Worked only for gaming, as soon as opened google chrome or anything that used internet, the internet would shut down until router was restarted.
4. Trouble shooting techniques
5. After trouble shooting techniques, I did something that made my internet not connect at any time for some reason.

Hardware:

Netcomm N300 wireless router with voice

Huawei EchoLife HGB240 GPON Terminal. (FIbre connection in here)

50 Meter Cat5e cable

Drivers on PC:

Realtek Gigabit Ethernet driver (latest driver as of today)

Any help would greatly be appreciated as this has been going on for many days now
