Hello everyone, this is my first post after using this website for several years, so let me know if I'm doing something wrong. Anyway, I recently got an Acer nitro 5 (great laptop for $700 BTW) but after reading some reviews and doing my own bench marking, I noticed that that the laptop ran a little warm. I bought some artic silver 5 to put higher quality thermal paste on the gpu and cpu. Everything went well, except that I screwed up, when I plugged in one of the fans I plugged it in upside down and killed it. The laptop still runs and can even game but the cpu reaches temperatures close to 90 degrees C. I know that this is my fault and I contacted Acer support to see if I could purchase a new fan but I have yet to get a reply. I have looked on several websites, but can't find the fan from this laptop to buy. So does anyone know a way to fix a laptop fan or know of any websites that will have the fan for this laptop?

Thanks for the extra info, i'll take another look. In all honesty, most of these parts are few and far between and typically higher than they should be just because the lack of supply and demand, meaning people can charge more and get away with it. That price sounds about right. Perhaps do a bit of haggling with that eBay user.

Also, what exactly is the issue with that fan? In what way is it broken? It doesn't run anymore? A blade has broken? Could you elaborate, please.

Looking at that eBay picture, those fans look standard to me. Can you take a look at both fans for me and take a picture or write down any code that shows on the fan. Most, if not all fans should have a sticker on them with their information.

Thanks
