so the other night i did a hard shut down on my pc cause it kept going to the log on screen when i hit shut down. then next morning i hit the power button and the case light went on fans spun for a second then shut off and computer didn't boot, i flipped the switch on the psu and back hit power and got the same result. then i opened up the case didn't see any error led codes but there was a red light by the ram and mb power plug. i then tried re setting the cmos per jumper that the mb book told me and also took out the cmos battery over night. after all that and unplugging every thing but the mother bored power plugs i tried a new corsair 850w psu and got the same result. ive read lot of different forums and tried every thing i can think of from what they have on there. ive had this build for over 4 years no issues and havent changed any hardware till this psu i tried to use to fix the issue.
Build is:
Cpu:I7-5930k
MB: Msi X99s gaming 7
liquid cooled cpu corsair h100
32Gb Adata ddr4
was a coolmax 1000w psu then swaped to corsair 850w
vid card msi gtx1080

Solution
Hmmm...well the biggest issue with this diagnosis, is it could be the RAM, CPU or Motherboard. These types of situations are tricky, unfortunately. It sucks that it didn't turn out to be any of the drives in your PC. Replacing the CPU or motherboard in a PC in my opinion, is the worst. If it was me, I'd probably buy the cheapest RAM/CPU for the motherboard and try that before replacing it.

Sounds like you corrupted windows files or damaged your bot drive. Try reinstalling windows and see if that works. When performing a hard shut down the only parts that are likely to be damaged are your drives, as they need to go through a certain process when shutting down and like I said, interrupting active processes can cause data to become corrupted. I'm more than happy to help if you have any more questions.

i wish it was that simple but the pc powers for one second then quits so its not even trying to load os at that point that's why i swapped in a new power supply

one of my old pc buds suggested some thing like that so i literally un hooked every thing but the one ram slot and the cpu and video card no sata hooked up and got the same result. my main drive is a samsung ssd ans i have 3 other drives installed, but sadly the same result happened where things light up for one second then stop and a red light turns on by the ram slots, im starting to think its the mother board sadly and that's no fun.

pull the gpu and one ram stick. see if it posts if there no posts...unplug fans and anything from the usb ports. as there a water cooler use a led flashlight make sure the cooler did not fail and leak onto parts in the pc. if there no psot see if a local shop can use a post it card see if the mb or cpu has any life. also make sure the cpu is locked in..if the cpu is locked in if it not locked in right the pc wont post.

so sadly after doing every thing that i have read and people suggested to me i replaced the mother bored and the pc is working 100% now. i was really hoping it was not it but even after taking the bored out and ruining just the processor and psu it gave me the same thing.
