I am planning to upgrade my 6GBs of RAM on my mobo to 8GB. When searching for the same model of RAM again, I could only find UDIMM RAM.

I have no idea what are the differences between these types and if they are compatible.

Please let me know, thanks :)

RAM: 3x 2GB Crucial DDR3 1333 DIMM (total 6G)
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage III Gene

Solution
Yes, UDIMM and DIMM are necessarily the same, Non-ECC. But if it is mentioned 'ECC' UDIMM, then not supported as Rampage III Gene does not support ECC Unbuffered. Only Non-ECC upto 2200 by overclocking.

UDIMM, DIMM, Non-ECC UDIMM, refers to the same.
UDIMM can be ECC, so you may have to check the memory spec if 'ECC' is mentioned.

For ASUS Rampage III GENE Motherboard RAM compatible reference:

Yes, you can use different CL timing. The lower is better.

So does that mean that I can add UDIMM RAM to my existing DIMM RAM and it will work? The RAM is compatible with my mobo.

Would like to add, can I use CL9 alongside CL11?

Thanks for the answer.
