I am trying to wrap my head around this memory.. 7th generation Intel CPU utilizes 2133 MHZ memory.. When I buy this memory, its factory set to 2133 MHZ.
My goal is to have the fastest possible memory for the least cost..
My questions are..
1) If all 7th generation DDR4 memory is exactly the same, do these pieces of ram have a speed controller chip placed on the ram stick, that boosts the memory to the desired MHZ rating?
2) How does over clocking software work? does it bypass this controller chip?
3) Could I purchase a lower MHZ rated memory set.. say a 3200 MHZ, OC them to 3733?
