mini-ITX PC build - $900 budget

I promised my wife I wouldn't spend anymore money on a new pc. However, I just sold off one of my pc's for $900 so technically it would be more like "replacing" an existing pc :)

The computer I sold off was in a full tower case(didn't like how big it was and the main reason I got rid of it). The specs were:
i7-4790(non k), 32gb ddr3, gtx 1050 ti, 250gb ssd, 1tb hdd

Would like to put together a new itx system(the smaller the better). It will mostly be used for netflix but some occasional, casual gaming. I'd like to put in that samsung 970 evo 250gb m.2. I do not require additional storage as I already have a few 4tb hdd's laying around(can toss one in if need be). I'm guessing cpu would either be that i5-8400 or that new ryzen 5 2600? Oh!... and the smaller the psu the better. I'm guessing a 500w gold would be good enough(or smaller?)

What do you think of the Phantek Shift cases?

Maybe this?

For a truly small form case I'd look at the Node 202.

Either option would be a good choice, if your more fond of overclocking then Ryzen would give you a bit more multicore performance and a little more longevity, at least until 2020 on the AM4 socket.

Once you pick parts and get it build it would be great if you posted pics, I love ITX builds and would love to see the outcome. I wanted to downsize my build but it's nearly impossible to find a Z97 ITX board for a reasonable price.
