I recently purchased a new Samsung EVO 860 500gb SSD to increase system performance. I was previously using two SATA II SSD drives that have failed.
When I do a speed test for read/write with CrystalDiskMark I am only achieving read speeds of 130 and write speeds of 125.
I know my system is aged but it does state that it's SATA III compatible according to the GigaByte specs page.
MOBO: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-X58A-UD3R-rev-20#ov
CPU: Intel i-7 950
RAM: 12gb DDR3 at 2158MHz
Any ideas why its so slow? I checked the CMOS and it is showing as the master drive for the port. I do have other drives connected and was thinking maybe by disconnecting those it may help? Wanted to check community prior to taking those steps.
Thanks for any help provided.
