Is my internet speed good or bad?

I honestly don't know much about internet download/connection speeds. I pay for one of the priciest internet packages you can get where I live in Norway and I really don't feel like my internet speed is any good. Downloading big files can take days.

It says my download speed is 2.31mbps. When I download something it's always between 0.7 to 1.3, nothing more than that. So is this good or am I getting ripped off here?

Thanks for the answer. It's strange as I am paying for the "best package".

If you're paying for one of the pricier packages, your ISP should be guaranteeing the speed that you're paying for. These speeds should be in your contract with the ISP. You're not getting good speeds - discuss this with the ISP.

A quick search suggests the speed is very poor; however it really depends WHERE you live and what options are available.

I used to get similar speeds on ADSL until the line equipment was upgraded, when my speed went to 5.5Mb; then fibre came along and now I get 80Mb.

Depending on where you are, and what you use the internet for, you might find a mobile package (4G) better, as Norway is supposed to have some of the best speeds for this.

Are there no Norwegian websites that detail ISP offering, speeds and give you tools to check your line capabilities??
